PropTech - the movement of the digital transformation of the built environment - is of great importance in realising social issues, the sustainable development goals. There are enormous opportunities to make a positive contribution to the sustainable development goals like health & well-being (3), affordable and sustainable energy (7), sustainable cities and communities (11), sustainable consumption and production (12) and climate action (13).

Over the past four years, the PropTech movement has grown exponentially, both in the Netherlands and in the rest of the world. In early 2016, Menno planted the 'PropTech germ' in the Netherlands with PropTechNL. The past four years have focused on awareness and discovery of technology in the real estate sector and these phases are being accelerated by the current crisis.
Now that society is at a tipping point, it is time to plant a new germ. After all, it is the decade of action with the sustainable development goals as the dot on the horizon. Today we planted the germ for a new movement: PropTech for Good.

The PropTech for Good movement has the potential to transform environments from the inside out. Going back to the old normal is not possible. The old normal does not work anymore. If we go back to the way it was, we haven't learned our lessons. Let's not fight for the old normal. Let's create the new normal together, our future.
